Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29:
OCT. 26
Burglary: Noon, 30620 116th Ave. S.E. Somebody broke into the kitchen of Rainier Middle School over the weekend, stole a set of keys and damaged a computer monitor. No value was given.
OCT. 27
Bomb threat or attack: 7 a.m., 1005 37th St. S.E. Somebody found the remnants of some sort of homemade explosive device somewhere at Gildo Rey Elementary.
Assault: 1 p.m., 501 Oravetz Road. One student assaulted another student at Auburn Riverside High School.
Shoplifting: 4:30 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. Four female persons of undefined age were caught shoplifting something or several somethings from Steve and Barry’s at the Supermall. One of the light-fingered females also had a warrant for her arrest.
Theft: 5 p.m., 400 block of 22nd Street Southeast. A boy was caught stealing $20 from his former foster parent.
Assault: 8:07 p.m., 100 block of 17th Street Southeast. A couple got into an argument at a local fast food joint, which reached its climax when the man hit the woman in the face and fled the area. Police found the guy later and arrested him for assault.
Burglary: 9 p.m., 4200 block of A Street Southeast. A woman reported that somebody burglarized her house of something while she was at work.
OCT. 28
Controlled substance: 11:31 a.m., 28900 block of 124th Avenue Southeast. Police found a kid with pot. Did they arrest him? Dunno. Didn’t say.
Shoplifting: 2 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. Police arrested a man for shoplifting at the Supermall. What he shoplifted and where he shoplifted it from police left out of the account.
Burglary: 3 p.m., 31400 block of 117th Place Southeast. Somebody broke into a home and stole numerous things. Police didn’t say how the intruder got in or what was stolen.
Shoplifting: 8:55 p.m., 1300 block of Auburn Way North. As police put it, “theft from specialty store.”
OCT. 29
Crack shoplifter: 11:50 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man at Safeway for stealing a cart full of meat and frozen goods. The guy told police that he sometimes steals three to four full carts a day at various grocery stores then sells the stolen goods to support his crack cocaine habit.
