Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded late this afternoon to a report of a fire in the basement of a home located in the 1300 block of J Street Southeast in Auburn.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the basement. All residents evacuated the home safely.

A fire investigator is on scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
