Between April 18 and 24, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 247 calls for service, among them the following:
April 18
Aid call: 8:10 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters assessed a young woman who was complaining of dizziness and left arm pain, and a private ambulance motored her off to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for more treatment.
April 19
Accident: 6:30 p.m., (South Auburn). Having responded to a report of a three-car accident in the 2800 block of Auburn Way South, firefighters evaluated one man, two women and one young girl who’d sustained minor injuries, and a private ambulance transported the man and woman to MAMC.
April 20
Aid call: 4:15 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters treated a pregnant woman who was complaining of abdominal pain and high blood pressure, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital.
April 21
Aid call: 3:45 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). When firefighters completed their examination of a senior citizen who had fallen and was complaining of hip and leg pain, a private private ambulance scooted him to Valley Medical Center.
April 22
Aid call: 8 a.m., (Auburn). When firefighters finished treating a young man who had been kicked in the head by a horse at Emerald Downs, VRFA personnel transported him in stable condition to a local hospital.
April 23
Gas Leak: 10:05 a.m., (Auburn). Having responded to a broken natural gas line in the 200 block of M Street Southeast, firefighters discovered that a man who had been working next to his home had hit a natural gas line, so they evacuated two homes, secured the area, and notified Puget Sound Energy, which secured the line.
April 24
Aid call: 9:36 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics started CPR/AED on a woman in cardiac arrest and transported her to MAMC.
