May 16

Overturned semi: 10 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a vehicle accident on Southbound Highway 167 found a semi that had failed to negotiate the on-ramp to westbound Highway 18 and rolled over on its side. Firefighters checked the driver for injuries and then transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) with minor injuries. After evaluating the semi for further hazards, firefighters turned the scene over to the Washington State Patrol for further mitigation.

May 17

Service aid: 3:30 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help lift a woman off the floor. The woman said that she had fallen two days prior and lain on the floor since that time. King County Medics checked out the woman, and a private ambulance transported her to ARMC for further evaluation.

May 18

Aid call: 4:49 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped an older woman complaining of chest pain. A private ambulance transported the woman to St. Francis Hospital.

May 19

Water problem: 3:45 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a water leak in the roadway at the 500 block of 27th Street Southeast found a water line broken under the roadway, undermining the road surface. Firefighters contacted the City of Auburn Water Department, and it secured the water line.

May 20

Aid call: 5:48 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a patient who had suffered an adverse reaction to prescription medication. A private ambulance transported the patient to ARMC.

May 21

Kitchen fire: 2:14 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a kitchen fire found the fire contained to one room of the house and snuffable with one hose line. Although all three of the home’s occupants escaped the fire, smoke damage prevented them from returning. The American Red Cross provided temporary shelter. The South King County Fire Investigation Task Force ruled the fire accidental.

May 22

Aid call: 4:10 (Auburn). Firefighters responded to the 1000 block of Supermall Way to help a woman who had suffered a seizure while eating dinner. A private ambulance transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
