The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 225 calls for service between Oct. 15 and 21, among them the following:

Oct. 15

Aid call: 3:18 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics arrived at the south Auburn Bartell Drug Store to treat a man with labored breathing, and medics transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Oct. 16

Fire alarm: 1:21 p.m., (Algona). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a commercial fire alarm that turned out to be a false alarm engendered by a faulty sprinkler system. Firefighters shut down and drained the system to prevent water damage.

Oct. 17

Aid call: 4:47 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a teenage boy who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance hurried him to MAMC.

Oct. 18

Aid call: 10:31 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters treated a man who in falling opened a deep laceration to his cheek that required more medical attention than they could supply on scene, so a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Oct. 19

Commercial fire: 4:33 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to an apartment fire in the 2900 block of R Street SE found one unit involved, and extinguished the fire 10 minutes after the initial dispatch.

Oct. 20

Aid call: 7 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a little boy who was suffering a seizure, and a private ambulance transported the toddler to MAMC for further evaluation.

Oct. 21

Commercial fire: 8:34 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm and smoke coming from a building, upgraded the incident to a full response. An overheated bit of equipment was to blame, and firefighters ensured the fire stopped there.
