Nov. 1

Aid call: 8:38 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters examined an ill diabetic and medics administered sugar intravenously. The person responded so positively to treatment that firefighters left him or her at home with a family member.

Nov. 2

Accident: 9:46 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a “T-bone” accident in a parking lot of a local business found a woman who had been knocked to the ground after a vehicle struck the car she was standing next to. Firefighters treated the woman for minor abrasions and she went home.

Nov. 3

Dog rescue: 2:37 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters were called to rescue a dog who had gotten his head stuck under a gate in a residential fence. Firefighters disassembled part of the gate and freed the pooch without injury.

Nov. 4

Fire alarm: 3:26 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to the Auburn Transit Station for an automatic fire alarm learned upon arrival that a security guard had already put out a small fire in a bathroom trash can. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force determined the fire was not a naturally occurring bathroom trash can fire.

Pedestrian-motor vehicle accident: 2:21 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of The Supermall found an elderly woman who had been knocked to the ground while crossing the street. Firefighters treated the woman for minor bruises. A private ambulance transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Nov. 6

Car accident: 1:44 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Ellingson Road and Pacific Avenue. Firefighters examined five patients and treated four for injuries, none of them life threatening. Firefighters extricated one patient using the “Jaws of Life”. King County Medics treated one patient and transported him or her to Harborview. A private ambulance transported two patients to ARMC and firefighters transported the last to the same hospital.

Nov. 7

Accident: 4:45 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a two-car accident at the corner of Ellingson and Milwaukee where two cars had collided with each other and one veered into a light pole. Air bags in both vehicles deployed. One driver sustained minor injuries to his or her left hand. Nobody had to be taken to a hospital.
