Auburn beats Federal Way 2-1, Ravens top Conks 2-1, Mountainview battles to 0-0 tie with Sumner | Boys Soccer

The Auburn Trojans overcame an early 1-0 deficit on Monday to defeat Federal Way 2-1 in South Puget Sound League North 4A play at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

Senior forward Doug Ruiz got things going for the Trojans with an unassisted goal at the 38-minute mark of the match. Junior midfielder Cesar Benitez scored the game-winner at 76 minutes on an assist from senior Joel Olenginski.

Mitchell Wadleigh scored the Eagles’ lone goal on an assist from Kelyn Rowe.

The Trojans will travel to Kentridge for a 7:30 p.m. match today, and host Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

ELSEWHERE:Auburn Mountainview tied SPSL 3A rival Sumner on Monday, 0-0. Isaac Ferrer, of Mountainview, and Sumner’s Zach Bowers were earned the shutouts. The Lions are 5-2-1 overall, 0-0-1 in league… Auburn Riverside squeaked by Kentwood 2-1 on Monday at French Field in Kent, earning its fourth SPSL North 4A win. Kevin Wien and Hansol Park scored goals for the Ravens. John Monroy was credited with two assists. Phillip Urban was the lone scorer for the Conquerors. Riverside will return to French Field on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. contest against Kentlake.
