Auburn Moutainview girls hoops downs Lindbergh 48-27

Ida Huners and Stephanie Smolinski each had 12 points in the Lions’ 48-27 win over Lindbergh this past Friday in a West Central District seeding game.

The Lions (13-6) down 10-3 after the first quarter, scored 23 points in the second quarter to go up 26-16 at the half. Auburn Mountainview clamped down defensively in the second half, holding Lindbergh (11-9) to just 11 points.

Angel Pele added eight points in the contest for the Lions with Aallia Braboy chipping in with seven.

The Lions will play Peninsula (11-8) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn High School in a West Cental District III tourney loser-out contest. The two teams have split their previous two regular season meetings.
