The Auburn Mountainview baseball team remained on top of the South Puget Sound League 3A Division with a win over White River this past Saturday.
The Lions (9-2 league, 12-3 overall) beat the Hornets 7-1 with pitcher Steven Johnson earning the win with a seven strikeout, three-hit performance on the mound.
Auburn Mountainview is currently ranked No. 10 in the Washington State 3A by washingtonbaseballpoll.com.
The Lions will host second-place Enumclaw (8-2, 10-2) at 7 p.m. today, Friday. At 4 p.m. tomorrow, the team will play Bonney Lake at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.

Terin Beck, T.J. Horsefall and Austin Weber all went yard for the Eagles (4-6 South Puget Sound League North, 6-7 overall) who had 13 hits in the contest.
Zac Tate was tagged with the loss on the mound and Marshall Klontz pitched three innings in relief.
Klontz was a force on the offensive side of the ball for the Trojans (2-8, 3-11) with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs on 4-for-4 hitting. Travis Hagel added two RBIs and a double on 2-for-4 hitting.
Weber earned the win for the Eagles and Nick Tanielu notched a save. … The Auburn Riverside Ravens fell to 3-8 in the SPSL North this past Tuesday with a 15-4 loss to No. 9 ranked Kentwood (9-1, 10-1). After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, the Ravens gave up seven runs in the second, with the Conks adding four runs in the third and four in the fourth. Kyle Rogers was the losing pitcher, giving up seven hits and six earned runs in two innings. Offensively the Ravens were led by catcher Joe Briggs who was 3-for-2 from the dish with two RBIs. Taylor Maples added a double and an RBI and R.J. Gius also contributed an RBI.
