I do remember a time when consumers had it better.
In reference to the story, “Couple trying to make a difference in typhoon-tattered Philippines” (Auburn Reporter, May 2), I think that’s commendable of the Verzosa couple, Therese and Jude.
I just wanted to thank whoever at Auburn City Hall decided that the sidewalks needed to be fixed.
We are writing in regard to the April 25 article: “Campaign in full swing to gain support for health center at Wesley Homes Lea Hill” (Reporter, April 25).
In regards to Debra Harmann’s letter (“Immigration reform needed”, Reporter, May 2), I wonder where she gets her information or her facts.
I read Virginia Amato’s Auburn Reporter announcement of candidacy for King County District Court Judge, Southeast Division, Position 5, wherein it stated the current judge, Richard Bathum, was retiring and endorsing her.
Note: Saturday is Food Drive for the Postal Service.
Hello, Mayor Backus. While I was reading a newsletter I was hoping to find information on what we surprisingly saw in the Auburn Reporter last week.
I attend my grandson’s baseball games at the ballpark on 41st Street behind Albertsons on the back side of Mt. Baker Middle School.
The abandoned hot dog stand – a small house – facing 12th street was not the location of ACAP Child and Family Services. Another small childcare center used the two houses.
Because of reporter error in a story last week about the City’s possible purchase of parcels adjacent to Les Gove Park, ACAP’s one-time location was misidentified.
In reference to a letter written by Dennis Doucette (“More taxes for a ‘playhouse?'”, Auburn Reporter, March 28):
State Rep. Tina Orwall, D-Des Moines, a leader in the suicide prevention movement, was misquoted in the March 28 Reporter.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) was founded in 1986 when residents of Bloomington, Ind., rallied around a toddler who needed a life-saving liver transplant.
The proposed plan to increase the minimum wage in the United States to $9 an hour by 2015 and $10.10 an hour by 2016 would have more benefits for the country than detriments.
A couple recently wrote supporting the proposed community center. They feel that a conservative group wrote several letters against the community center.

We know it is the goal of the City to grow new businesses and to help current businesses to thrive, but we disagree with the decision to sell 16 parking spaces to Chase Bank at 24 A St. SE.
I very much agree with the letter giving MultiCare Auburn Medical Center five stars (Auburn Reporter, March 14). However, the billing department and the outsource billing is beyond any stars. The right or left hand has not a clue what the other is doing.
